Herbal Medicinal Tea.

Looking for something to help you out when you are sick with the flu or cold? Maybe you are just looking for a tea that will help you not get sick, and I have most of the teas for you! Herbal Medicinal Tea is just the place for you.

Boost the immune system, calm an upset stomach, and alleviate stress with herbal medicine tea. From simple to complex, give these herbal tea blends a try. Here are my 3 favorite teas I drink to get better from a cold or when I need to not get sick.

Drinking herbal tea is so good for you! My mother tells me, “Herbs help you so much,” And she is so right! I was sick with the flu a few years ago, and you know how it feels when you’re with that awful sickness. I had a cup of Ginger tea and kept drinking it while I was sick, and about two days later, I was all better! (Thank you, mom!) 🙂

Feeling a chill or feeling a cold coming on? Drink ginger tea. Or some Mint Tea this also helps out. Let me tell you this: I don’t think teas are the ONLY thing that helps you out when sick; although it does help you some, it’s not the whole puzzle. When reading Herbal Medicinal Tea. Keep that in mind,

I don’t see it as a cure but something that can assist in helping you feel better. Herbal Medicinal Tea is great for when you want something to help with a small problem but keep in mind that every tea acts differently as well, they won’t help for some. That is when you research something that will help you out. Me, I look to my mom for tips when I’m sick. she is great for when I am not feeling well and want to get to feeling better, she will usually more than tell me to drink cold water or have a hot cup of tea! :))

These are all herbal teas or tisanes. They’re not really tea since it doesn’t come from a tea plant; instead, these are dried herbals steeped in hot water.

Now, this seems easy, but I have never made it yet, so I won’t say it’s easy. Herbal Medicinal Tea may look easy to make, but I’m a newbie, so don’t take my word for it, try it out yourself 🙂

CHRYSANTHEMUM TEA

Chrysanthemum tea is from the chrysanthemum flower, which is so simple to prepare. You add hot water to the dried flowers. The longer you steep, the stronger the taste will be.

This was by far my favorite in that it was so pure and unique in flavor. And I found out why. This tea helps with a lot of things. Not only is it good for you, but it’s good for just about anyone.

How to Make Chrysanthemum Tea

Boil water and steep dried flower buds and let them unfurl. You can steep however long you wish. I would do two tablespoons of dried flower buds to one cup of water. Served hot is the best way to have it.

GINGER AND LEMON TEA

The ingredients for this tea are super easy to find, unlike the good quality dried chrysanthemum flowers — all you need is ginger and lemon. It’s easy to make too.

The balance is in the amount of each you want to add. The first time I made it, it was way too tart.

With this one, you steep for longer, about 20 minutes.

How to Make Ginger and Lemon Tea

Boil water and add thinly sliced ginger and lemon. Steep for 20 minutes. You can add a little honey if you’d like. For two cups of water, add 1-inch fresh ginger, peeled and sliced and a quarter of a lemon, sliced.

This drink can be hot or cold.

You’ll most likely want to add honey to your herbal tea since the taste may be too strong for you or add some sugar (just a small bit).

LEMON AND MINT TEA

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup Lemonade (I use plan lemons with sugar in the mix)
  • 1 citrus mint tea
  • 1 peach-flavored tea
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 drop of peppermint extract ( if you want)
  • Lemon slices, for serving (Do however many you want)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Bring the water and lemonade to a simmer in a small saucepan. Remove from the heat and add the tea bags. Cover and steep for 3 minutes.
  2. Discard the tea bags, add the honey, and stir until dissolved. Add peppermint extract if desired. Divide the tea between 2 mugs and serve immediately with a thin slice of lemon.

This tea is so good for you too! Not only does it have lemons in it (this helps with a sore throat as well), But it also has great health benefits! Isn’t this a great one to try the next you or someone you know is sick? Not only is Herbal Medicinal Tea great for when you are sick, but if you make some even when you are really healthy, the chances of you getting sick are very slim when you drink these teas daily.

The best way to figure out how to make any herbal medicine is to look up the best herbs for your health and if you’re looking for more teas about helping you feel better, check this out.
