9 Teas That Help fight off Covid.
9 Teas That Help fight off Covid. It sounds wired, but if you know the benefits of these teas, I have written on how teas can help you if you do not want to catch Covid. Tea that fights viruses offers an amicable solution from nature to pull off the challenges of nasty viruses!
Most people value health above even money. Some medical professionals believe that by spending just a bit extra on tea, you may experience the health benefits of tea. Studies indicate that daily tea drinking aids us both physically and emotionally.
When you hear the word virus, the next word that comes to your memory is COVID 19. “Drinking of Tea can cure Covid-19/ Corona Virus!” A rumor was spreading through social media on this controversial topic. Therefore, I decided to research Tea that fights viruses, including the above statement on tea and covid19.
COVID- 19 is a deadly virus that spreads very quickly among human beings. It attacks the human respiratory system. And this then causes symptoms like fever, cough, and difficulty in breathing. Currently, the virus affects nearly 27 million people worldwide. Additionally, reports of deaths from the virus total over 880,000.
Of course, the effects go beyond each person’s health. This tragedy cripples many areas of the economy, further endangers our population.
Studies of Tea that fights viruses
A controversial message was shared in social media stating a finding of Chinese Dr. Li Wenliang. He foretold the Coronavirus to the world before his death due to the same virus infection.
According to his records, this is a deadly virus that is difficult to control. However, he stated that several chemicals occurring in tea, like Methylxanthine, Theobromine, and Theophylline, may fight against COVID- 19 virus and suppress its growth in the human body.
However, this statement was extracted from his reports without any scientific experiment. Following this message, several COVID- 19 affected patients in China were given three cups of tea a day, and the other treatments were presented simultaneously. Many appeared cured with the combination of standard therapies and tea consumption.
Researchers of the Zhejiang Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention have identified through in vitro tests (experiments conducted under controlled environments in a laboratory) that polyphenols available in tea can kill the Covid-19 virus by directly contacting both. This result suggests that daily drinking of tea can reduce the effects and possibly even prevent all the viruses, including Coronavirus.
However, testing continues.
Research cannot, at this time, provide conclusive results for the medical theory.
An immunologist states that drinking tea may not give the same result as the experiment due to the laboratory environment rather than an actual test among people. Skewed results may happen because they move into the stomach when drinking tea.
But the covid19 virus, and other similar ones, seem to impact the lungs directly. No definite conclusion shows without the direct contact point, though research continues to look for the link. We expect further study and exploration of this message due to the importance of understanding what is truly happening.
The potential link to tea remains very important. Consider that tea beverages naturally contain chemicals like Polyphenols, Methylxanthine, Theobromine, and Theophylline.
If these chemicals suppress the Covid-19 virus, tea will become a viable option to overcome this worldwide danger. While it may not prove to be a cure, at the very least, it does provide important hydration.
Also, some medical experts instruct people to drink hot beverages to be protected from the Coronavirus frequently. They believe it would kill the virus when it remains in the throat because it does not tolerate high temperatures. Without more studies, this remains a question.
Most doctors advise sipping hot tea to relieve any infection or virus congestion. This seems to add to the evidence of drinking tea to help relieve Covid19 symptoms, as it is a virus.
Considering all the facts, many conclude that drinking tea as a hot beverage provides additional support to protect people against COVID- 19 virus. This extra protection may occur, even if the chemicals available in tea do not directly contact each other.
In addition to the Coronavirus or COVID 19, many viral infections threaten to affect the human body. As explained above, tea provides health benefits to combat and control viruses. Both black tea and green tea proved to be beneficial. And teas made from other herbal plants also show significant results in controlling viral infections.
Let’s find out what tea and herbs can fight viruses.
Black tea / Green tea
Green tea, as you may know by now, this tea helps with immune health and lower the risk of infection. The main component of green tea catechins, Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG), has an antiviral effect against many DNA and RNA viruses.
Interestingly, both green tea and black tea grow from the same plant. Camellia Sinensis is the parent of both types of tea. The actual difference happens after harvesting the leaves. When the leaves are oxidized, they produce black tea. Without that, green tea results.
Oregano Tea
This herb from the mint family offers critical antiviral properties. A component called carvacrol is responsible for the antiviral properties of Oregano tea. It may work well against the viral causes of diarrhea and respiratory infections.
Sage
Sage is also a member of the mint family, and it is being used over a long period as traditional medicine. A compound called safficinolide may be responsible for the antiviral property of Sage. It may fight with the immunodeficiency virus type 1 or HIV -1.
Basil
Basil may fight against viral infections by increasing immunity. Studies show that Holy basil can increase the number of immune cells that defend the body from viral infections. It contains compounds such as apigenin and ursolic acid. These may help to fight against the hepatitis B virus and enterovirus.
Lemon Balm Tea
Essential oils and plant compounds containing Lemon Balm may help antiviral activity and fight against HIV – 1, influenza, herpes virus, and enterovirus.
Peppermint Tea
It is a solid and effective antiviral herbal tea. Peppermint leaves and essential oils contain menthol and rosmarinic acid, responsible for their antiviral activity. Peppermint may be especially effective in the action against the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
Rosemary Tea
Rosemary contains Oleanolic acid, which provides antiviral activity against herpes, HIV, and influenza viruses. And this herb can boost your mood, even if you are sick; this tea has many reasons to help you get better sooner.
Echinacea
Echinacea is a floral herb with precious medicinal qualities. Each part of the plant, including its flowers, leaves, and roots, provides natural remedies for different diseases. Echinacea has an immune-boosting effect and its flowers. Some genuine medical professionals use these to treat viral infections like herpes and influenza.
Licorice
Licorice has been used as a medicine for centuries. Compounds like Glycyrrhizin, liquiritigenin and glabridin may positively affect on control of viral infections.

What else?
Drinking herbs and tea to fight viruses provides an excellent natural remedy for viral infections instead of complicated medicines, vaccines, and treatments. Let’s defeat all the harmful viruses with a sip of natural teas and herbs.
Of course, it’s also essential to brewing your tea at the proper temperature and time. Too hot, and you may lose some health benefits. Too cool, and they may not release.
Also, we recommend using organic tea whenever possible. Using organically grown products ensures you don’t drink harmful chemicals. While science remains mixed on the amount of chemical leaching from tea leaves, caution seems reasonable when striving for health benefits. Some recommend that you choose organic food, too.
To further ensure your tea is top quality, consider growing your own! Yes, some types of tea and herbs grow well as indoor plants or outdoor in a proper climate.
